Weekend Mornings in Palm Beach County

Simple ways to spend a Saturday morning around Palm Beach County.

One of the best things about living in Palm Beach County is how easy it is to make a weekend morning feel special without much planning. A little sunshine, a walk by the water and a good cup of coffee go a long way here.

A walk or a ride by the water

The Lake Trail on Palm Beach is one of the prettiest paths around, running along the Intracoastal with views back toward West Palm Beach. Early in the morning it is full of walkers, runners and cyclists, and it is a relaxed way to start the day. The waterfront in downtown West Palm Beach is another easy option, with open space, boats and plenty of room to stroll.

Farmers markets

During the cooler months, the farmers market scene is a highlight. The West Palm Beach GreenMarket on the waterfront is a local tradition, with produce, flowers, baked goods and local vendors. Wandering the stalls with a coffee is one of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday morning in season.

Beach time before the crowds

Getting to the beach early is worth it. The light is beautiful, the sand is cool and you often have a stretch mostly to yourself. Palm Beach County has miles of public beaches, and each has its own feel, from busy and lively to quiet and natural.

Breakfast somewhere new

I like trying a new breakfast spot every so often. The area has a mix of classic diners, cafes and newer places, and exploring a different town in the county is half the fun. Some of my favorite finds have come from simply driving somewhere I had not been and walking around.

Support local events

Weekends in the county often bring art festivals, outdoor concerts, boat shows and community events, especially in season. I like checking what is happening in town before making plans. Some of the most enjoyable mornings I have had here came from stumbling onto a local event while out for a walk, and they are a good way to meet neighbors and discover small businesses.

Keep it unhurried

The real secret of a good weekend morning here is not doing too much. Leaving room to linger over coffee, take the long way home or sit and watch the boats is what makes it feel like time off.

Whether you live here or are just visiting, a slow morning outside is one of the easiest ways to see why so many people love this part of Florida.
